Sam's most recent bout of thievery resulted in him absconding with a Sacred Heart medal Aunt Betty got for Dad on her last visit. The velvety jewelry box was just too much to resist, and he plucked it from Dad's nightstand and ran off with it. He tends to make his stands in the living room, since there are two available exits, so it took me quite a while to catch him and wrestle it from his grasp.
Finders keepers losers weepers
Luckily the box did its job and protected the medal from harm. It did get coated in quite a lot of drool, however. So now it's been both blessed by a priest and anointed with dog slobber. Let's hope Sam doesn't attempt to "bless" anything else.
Hi Sam - it's me Holly in Ormond Beach - Christine keeps reading your blog to me and showing me pictures of you swimming in the pool - I'm still not sure I want to get all wet - Christine brought home this blue ball thinking I would play with it in the pool - but it is really pretty scary as it floats silently and steadily round and round and round ......
ReplyDeleteYou know Sam we are alot alike - we have the same color eyes - we are about the same age (I was born on Christmas eve) - I'm fixed too (piece of biscuit here too) - and OMG we had the same bed - until I ate he stuffing out of mine
But you know so many more tricks and are really a good dog - I still pee in the house - just cause I forget - and I chew wood and eat stuffing - but I'm trying - Christine read an ad to me from the paper - 7 mos black lab with crate and lots of extras $200 or best offer - now that's scarier than the blue ball
Christine calls my step Belle and me her assistants (get it her lab assistants) - so I try to help - I was helping Bob (Christine's old man) get ready for work by bringing him his watch - unfortunately the leather band somehow snapped in my mouth (twice) - I also clear anything left in the front of the kitchen counter and bring it to Christine after testing its durability - some things aren't very durable
I hope to meet you one day Sam - but until then I am trying to be gooder like you
Holly
Hi Holly!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about trying to help out and not being appreciated. Yesterday I tried to polish Terri's sunglasses for her, so I pulled her purse off the counter and got the sunglasses out and tried to clean them. Unfortunately they couldn't withstand the cleaning process and broke into lots of little bits and the lens thingies popped out. I got in a lot of trouble for that one because the sunglasses were something called "prescription" which means they cost a lot.
Don't be disheartened by these setbacks! After all we are still puppies so the humans have to give us some slack. Plus we look cute so that always helps. I'm sure we'll both be good assistants!
Sam
